Greetings once again from Borcon
Industry News
In his role as contractual and legal consultant to the MBA North, Brad had the privilege of attending a webinar with senior built environment stakeholders, to discuss the challenges facing the industry at present. The MBA North is making efforts to assist its members by engaging with the Competition Commission, the JBCC® and other industry bodies to promote / regain a fair allocation of risk to the contracting parties. Look out for the MBA press releases and more information to follow.
Residential Support Services
It has come to our attention that many large residential projects are executed on the Dolphin Coast without any attention given to contract formalities, or the management of budget. This brings significant risk to owners and contractors.
Borcon has subsequently devised a service offering aimed at assisting owners to manage these builds from a contractual and budget aspect, for a fixed fee. This type of service could be self-funding – the consulting fees offset by budget savings and final account management. Please make contact with tavia@borcon.co.za should you require further info on these services.
Training
The dates for the next MBSA Domestic Subcontract (2018 edition) virtual training course have been finalised: 13-15 July from 9am – 12pm. This training is co-hosted by Borcon and the MBA North. This well priced training is essential for all domestic subcontractors.
