It’s been a busy time at BorCon. The year seems to have flown past and here we are heading into the final stretch of 2022.
BorCon has been increasing its footprint in KZN while continuing to service its clients in Gauteng and the Western Cape. Most of our time has been spent protecting our clients from commercial contracting risks with a view to avoiding disputes.
In conjunction with the MBA North, a well-attended breakfast workshop was held recently which saw a diverse range of contractors and subcontractors coming together to discuss their plight operating in a low-margin environment while at the same time dealing with certification and payment difficulties and the like. Strong resolutions were adopted; we look forward to working further with the MBA North to support its members commercially. We are planning to schedule more of these industry get-togethers with the MBA North, we hope to see you at the next one!
We have expanded our services to provide commercial support to principal agents. Principal agents have a plethora of obligations to dispose of when working with standard form contracts like the JBCC® principal building agreement. These contracts require proper administration to ensure successful commercial outcomes and to reduce potential disputes. If this type of service is of interest to you, please make contact! tavia@borcon.co.za
We have been successful in recovering old retentions for some clients. If you have old retentions sitting in your debtor’s book, why not use BorCon to assist in recovering them? Remember debts generally prescribe in three years so beware not to leave it until too late.
If you are a registered plumber looking for CPD points, don’t forget to register on the IOPSA LMS website where you will find various well priced and relevant BorCon short courses.
